You can read waves. You can catch them. You know how to surf.

Then you step down in board length and suddenly:

You're late.
You're pearling.
You're missing waves.
You can't generate speed.
Your bottom turn feels weird.
Your stance feels awkward.
You don’t know what to do with your arms (!)

And the confidence you had on your longer board disappears.

You're not starting over. You're learning a new language.

You don't need more instagram tutorials or surf meetups with beginners.

You need someone to watch your surfing and help you understand what to change.

you know how to surf… soo why does surfing a shorter board make you feel like you don't?

3 sessions + 4 weeks of coaching. a holistic way to practice surfing shorter boards.

every session includes a pre+post surf workshop, filming, surfboard demos, and in-water coaching

Day 1 — Build the foundation.

Board, stance, positioning, wave selection, speed, and the bottom turn that sets up everything after it. Plus the biggest shift of all: what it actually means to surf on rail.

  • surfboard demos

  • land practice

  • in water coaching

  • filming

Day 2 — Connect the turns.

Bottom turn into top turn. Carves, cutbacks, getting vertical. You stop performing one maneuver at a time and start feeling the whole wave.

  • set surf intentions

  • connect with your signature surf style

  • learn you strengths and habits on shorter boards

Day 3 — Surf more radically.

More commitment, more speed, more rail. And yes, you might fall. That's part of the practice and in fact that’s part of being a shortboarder <3

  • set surf intentions for this season of your surfing

  • connect with your surf anchor + vision

  • practice new things

  • overcome fears by building self-trust

because being a woman in a

male-dominate sport

is fucking HARD

Surfing is not a performance review. It's an art.

But that's not how most of us have been surfing…

Surfing is territorial. It's male-dominated. It’s gate-keepy. And learning a new style of surfing as an adult, in front of people, on a board you don't know how to ride yet, leads to self-surveillance of your own surfing and it turns you into your own worst critic.

So we wait until we're good enough to try the maneuver. We stay on the board we know we can surf, and we call it a preference. Perfectionism starts masquerading as progress.

You don't have to earn your place in the lineup by becoming good enough. You already belong because you love the ocean. Surfing is hard enough, if you are at the level of positioning yourself and catching your own waves you’re an intermediate surf and don’t let any man in the lineup tell you otherwise <3

In sea state, surfing gets to be a devotion instead of a performance. And when you stop trying to prove yourself, you finally get to practice.. and that is how you learn!

But at the same time… you don't have any women around you who surf the way you want to surf! Maybe you're surrounded by longboards and mushy waves. Maybe there aren't many women in your life who shortboard. Maybe you're watching the surfing you want to do from the beach without a crew to go do it with. If that’s the case I’m so glad we found each other :)

THE SEA STATE METHOD

SURF

Get coaching in the water and on the sane to work on your actual surfing.

Not a generic lesson.

Your waves. Your board. Your style Your vision.

Personalized surf coaching in a small-group setting

SEE

You'll be filmed.

Because sometimes you can't feel what you're doing until you see it.

We'll use your footage to identify patterns, celebrate what's working, and find the one or two changes that will actually move your surfing forward.

SHIFT

Then you take that knowledge back into the water.

You practice. You experiment. You start to feel the difference.

And eventually, the thing you had to consciously think about becomes something your body just knows how to do.

SUPPORT

Because it really is that deep, inside sea state we have a private space to express ourselves and talk about our experiences as women in surfing from a place of empowerment because we support each other.

Make friends for life and experience one of the greatest things about surfing - having a crew.

This is for you if

  • You're past the beginner stage and ready to move to a midlength, fish or shortboard.

  • You want to understand why your surfing isn't doing what you want it to do.

  • You want more women in your life who are serious about getting better.

  • You don't want bro culture, a beginner meetup, or to be yelled at by a competitive coach.

  • You're not interested in competition. You just want to actually fucking rip.

  • You confidently surf a longer board but struggle on something shorter.

  • You have a midlength, fish, or shortboard you want to figure out.

  • You want more speed, rail, power, turns, and better lines.

  • You want to surf steeper or more powerful waves.

  • You're tired of overthinking every surf.

  • You want more women around you who take surfing seriously.

You don't have to be advanced.

You just have to already know how to surf.

    $1053 total value

the part that sticks

The thing I most want you to leave with isn't a maneuver. It's knowing how to practice.

Before you paddle out, you set a Surf Intention: what am I working on today? What’s my intention for this session? Then you go try it. You fall. You get filmed. You get feedback. You go back out and try again knowing that this is bigger than just surfing.

You’re not waiting until you're confident enough. You’re building self-trust and self-acceptance by showing yourself, over and over, that you can try. That’s freedom . Freedom from overthinking. Freedom from perfectionism. Freedom from fear. Freedom from playing small.

And that’s how you’ll start surfing shorter boards with more power, speed, flow, and style. That’s how your surfing stops being a performance and starts being art. That’s what I want for you. A surf practice that feels like an act of self-expression. (and an act of self-love!)

One Last Thing..

*

One Last Thing.. *

You might be waiting until you're better.

Until you're stronger.

Until your surfing is more consistent.

Until you're more confident.

Until you “belong” in the lineup.

Until you can already surf the shorter board.

But that's backwards.

You don't become ready and then start.

You start.

You practice.

You fall.

You figure shit out.

And eventually, you look around and realize:

You're the surfer you were waiting to become.
